When it comes down to a vacation party central nightlife destination, Los Cabos, ranks right up there with the Las Vegas strip, Miami, Florida dance clubs, New Orleans, Louisiana French Quarter, and San Diego’s Gaslamp District. While not as old as its American nightlife counterparts, Cabo’s after hours festive scene has garnered world-wide fame as a place to party year round, since word of the young city’s nightlife began to spread among U.S., Canadian and European visitors during the late 1970’s.
In the late 1960’s, California surfers started making Los Cabos getaway voyages to surf and party , and were the first to create the world-famous term, ”What happens in Cabo, stays in Cabo”.
After city planners, engineers and architects transformed the small fishing village into a tourist destination in 1974, Cabo’s party reputation started taking shape in 1989 with the construction and opening of the now world famous, three story nightclub, El Squid Roe.
Los Cabos town quickly grew into a major vacation resort during the mid-1990’s. Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Cantina put Cabo on the universal party scene map, and the fame and party fandom has simply grown and grown into an epic legendary degree.
Other nightclubs joined the Cabo party strip action and soon opened in and around the downtown Squid Roe location. Visitors can now walk one block in any direction of Squid Roe and enjoy the music and party frenzy at such places like Mandala, Jungle Bar, Giggling Marlin, La Vaquita, Crush, Senor Frogs, Baja Brewery, etc.,
The nightlife on resort hotel grounds is also a festive place to relax and let loose as resort/hotels cater to their guests by providing live music entertainment, and song and dance evening of a variety of themes; including Mexican Fiesta, and Brazilian Carnaval.
